You've picked a set. Now what do you actually buy? The answer is always the same: whichever product gives you the lowest cost per pack.
We pulled current Cardmarket prices for every product type across the most popular sets. Here's what to buy — and what to avoid — for each one.

Prismatic Evolutions
The most in-demand set right now, and the trickiest to buy. No Booster Box exists — packs are only available through special products. All ETB/product prices below are adjusted for promo card value (~€3 for the ETB promo).
The winner is clear: single packs at ~€10 are half the price of an ETB per pack. Even after subtracting the €3 promo card value, the ETB still runs €21.78 per pack. If you're purely chasing cards, buy single packs.

Ascended Heroes
Another set with no Booster Box. Sold through ETBs, Poster Collections, and other sealed products. Promo values factored in below.
Unusual situation: the ETB actually wins here, especially after subtracting the €5 promo card. At €11.11 per pack it beats loose singles at €13.11. The Poster Collection is also competitive after its €8 promo value. This is rare — for most sets, singles beat ETBs.

Perfect Order
A standard main set with a Booster Box. This is how most sets work. ETB promo (~€2) factored in.

Evolving Skies
A collector set, not a value play. Prices are extreme across all products. The ETB promo (~€8) helps slightly.

151
The nostalgia king. No Booster Box — special set distribution only. ETB promo (~€2) factored in.
Single packs at ~€20 are the best deal. The ETB promo only knocks off €2, barely denting the €28.67 per-pack cost. At €6.14 card EV per pack you're losing ~€14 on average. The Charizard ex SIR at €250+ is doing most of the heavy lifting. Buy singles unless you're chasing that thrill.
151 →General Tips
A few rules that apply across every set:
Single packs are usually cheapest — for most sets, loose boosters on Cardmarket cost less per pack than any sealed product. The exception is hyped special sets where demand pushes loose pack prices up.
ETBs carry a premium — you're paying for sleeves, dice, a storage box, and the brand experience. If you're opening for value, ETBs are almost never the best deal.
Booster Boxes are the volume play — if you're ripping a lot, the BB usually offers the second-best cost per pack after singles. Plus they're tamper-resistant.
Check the math before you buy — prices shift daily. A product that was the best deal yesterday might not be today. Every set page on PackVerdict shows live cost per pack for all products.
Promos are factored in — all ETB and product prices above have promo card values subtracted. We used live Cardmarket promo prices where available, with verified fallback values. This gives you the true cost per pack.
Every set on PackVerdict has a product calculator where you can compare cost per pack across all products with live Cardmarket prices. Pick your set, pick your product, and see exactly what you're paying.
